Beautiful & Damned (UK, 2000) was set up as a spin-off from “Kadett Lederdesign”, Amsterdam/Berlin, est. 1994). A collaboration between Dutch designer Kadett and artist Car formed Kadett//Car. Leather for the Beautiful & Damned is built on the success of their reputations in Europe. Kadett//Car have tied up a name for themselves on the UK scene.

KADETT : began turning leather tailcoats into jeans during her punk years in her native Holland. She is inspired by her travels and meeting lots of leather people . With 10 years experience in custom-made leather work, Kadett has stitched and manufactured leather harnesses and cuffs for Fun
Factory (Germany) and trained with Gisela of Katharsis (Berlin) all before founding “Kadett Lederdesign”

CAR : Has worked for BBC North Costume, worked freelance on costumes for film and TV including kilts
for “Braveheart”. She has exhibited video and photography work on the subjects of gender, clothing and sexuality.
